Overview

*The lack of racial/ethnic diversity in the biomedical workforce is a major impediment to this nation's capacity to remain preeminent in science. It is recognized that MSM's most precious asset for augmenting our research capacity in clinical/translational science is based on the talent and commitment of our students and faculty to lifelong learning and innovation. Over the past decade, MSM has established a nationally recognized track record of success in training minority investigators through its pipeline programs beginning at the middle school level and extending to the undergraduate level as well as our graduate programs.

*The R-CENTER Multidisciplinary Mentored Research Training and Career Development Program (MiDr¬CAREER) program provides an opportunity for MSM to establish a more systematic and coherent approach to promoting career development by effective mentorship and research training of emerging investigators.

Provide a robust research infrastructure and vibrant training environment that foster innovative, multidisciplinary clinical/translational research.

Aim 3: Transform the Community of Biomedical Scientists - Career Development

Provide an institution-wide resource that leverages existing training programs and integrates research project support and mentor-ship to enhance the research training and career development environment.

Aim 4: Transform Our Community - Community-Based Research Informatics and Training

Expand our clinical/translational research training programs in Community-Based Clinical Epidemiology and Health Services Research by leveraging our biomedical informatics infrastructure to improve the health status within underserved communities. Multidisciplinary Training and Career Development
