Center of Excellence for the Validation of Digital Health Technologies and Clinical Algorithms
Overview
The Center of Excellence for the Validation of Digital Health Technologies and Clinical Algorithms (Center for Digital Health), led by Drs. Muhammed Idris, PhD, and Marilyn Foreman, MD, is supported through a 10-year commitment by Novartis and other partners as part of the Beacon of Hope Initiative. The Center focuses on research at the intersection of emerging digital health technologies, including AI and machine learning, the development and evaluation of algorithmic interventions, and the training of scientists and clinicians to advance the responsible design, development, and application of clinical AI/ML.
Mission
To advance responsible digital health research and train the next generation of scientists to promote the development and application of digital health technologies that improve health outcomes for all.
Core Pillars:
-
Identify best-practices around the use of digital health that drive diagnosis, clinical trial endpoints, and population health policy.
-
Validate clinical algorithms, artificial intelligence/machine learning models, and medical diagnostic tools.
-
Train the next generation of biomedical scientists and clinicians in data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning
Selected Projects:
External Validation of Clinical AI/ML
Human Centered Clinical Risk Prediction
Generative AI for Tailored Health Communication
